I’ve finally begun to spot a few AI accounts right here on Substack, which must be tricky to pull off given Substack doesn’t have an API as readily available as reddits or twitters for example.

Here are some ways to avoid getting tricked.

Look at post frequency: AI can post an essay every hour and a comment every minute regardless of time of day.

Use discernment: check in with your body and gut. Is the person you’re talking to driving you deeper into alienation, division, hatred, outrage and triggering emotions? You might be getting gamed!

Note essay structure: Beware any essay that uses lists with summaries for each point followed by a colon (like I just did lol).

Applied to deepfakes? As far as I know yes, he's the only one prominent US politician who has done it.

It's not a question of who «can» do it, but who's actually doing it. All the more perverse as the doer (you know who) takes pleasure and pride in the shameful behavior.

Deepfakes is an issue but unfortunate you mix a political view in the blog.

Parody has always been a method of satire and weather more realistic easily by technology makes it evil is something to be discussed .

But the issue is less deepfakes as inability to accept satire or irony on a point of view challenging the one you espouse.

So more then deepfakes it is false narratives by alleged trusted reputed media that is the bigger issue and ignoring that is a problem.

Was the mental situation of Biden a deepfake or a deliberate lying ?

Imagine France inviting Germany in marking WWII but dropping Russia which actually suffered most in WWII and entered Berlin. That is revisions to actual history

TikTok or X audience may actually be surfacing more alternative views then the dominant established media esp on Palestine or Biden or Trump.

Technology is enabling story telling at a professional level but the problem is somewhere else. Can we get real?
